Accepting and declining events

Accept or decline practices and matches, decline reasons, reply deadlines, waitlist and reminders – and how parents reply for their child.

You’ll find all your teams’ events in the app under the Events tab. One tap tells the organizers whether you’re in – they see your reply instantly.

Accept or decline

  1. Open the Events tab.
  2. Tap Confirm or Decline on the event. You’ll find the same buttons on the event’s detail page under Participation, where they read Accept and Decline.
  3. Done – your reply is saved.
The buttons for accepting and declining sit below every open event.

A few details:

  • Confirm is saved straight away on the first tap. Tap it again to add a note, for example that you’ll be late.
  • Maybe is only available if the organizer allows “Unsure” as an answer. You can add a note here too.
  • The Pending filter shows at a glance which events are still waiting for your reply.
  • Past events only show your status; the buttons are gone.

Declining with a reason

The organizer decides for each event whether you have to give a reason when declining. By default a reason is required:

  • You’ll see “Please provide a reason for declining:”. The button reads Reason required until you’ve typed something, then Decline.
  • The reason can be up to 200 characters. It’s visible to your coaches – so only share what’s necessary.
  • If no reason is required, you can tap Decline without reason.

Whether other participants can see the reasons also depends on the event settings. Usually only the organizers see them.

Reply deadline

If an event has a reply deadline, the detail page shows how much time is left (for example “2 days left”). Until then you can change your reply as often as you like.

Once the deadline has passed, you’ll see Deadline passed and the buttons are locked. If you still need to change something, contact the organizer – for example with Message organizer on the detail page. Organizers can still change your status after the deadline.

If an event has been cancelled, you can no longer reply to it.

Waitlist

If an event has a maximum number of participants and is full, the button reads Join waitlist. You’re then put on the waitlist and see the note “You are on the waitlist”.

When someone declines, the first person on the waitlist moves up automatically. You’ll get a notification that you’ve moved up – if you’re a minor with a guardian, they’re notified as well.

Reminders and absences

  • Automatic reminder: if the organizer has set a reminder, you only get it if you haven’t replied yet.
  • Manual reminder: coaches can also remind everyone who hasn’t answered.
  • Absences: if you’ll be away for a while, enter an absence. Affected events are then declined automatically – including events created later.

You choose which notifications you get under Notifications.

Events in your phone’s calendar

Under Settings → Calendar sync you can have your events added automatically to a calendar on your phone. This isn’t a subscription link – the app writes the events directly into the calendar you pick. Only your own events are synced, not your children’s. More in Calendar sync.

For parents: replying for your child

If you’re linked to your child as a guardian, you’ll see their events in your app. Each child gets their own row with buttons that include the child’s name. That way you always know who you’re replying for. Under Events you can also filter by child.

One row per child, so you can see who you’re replying for.
  • If the event requires a decline reason, that also applies when you decline for your child.
  • Your child gets a notification when you’ve replied for them. If they reply themselves, you’re notified.
