Notifications

Which push notifications VolleyFit sends, how to set them per team and what ends up in the bell.

VolleyFit lets you know when there's a new event, someone comments or your Daily Check is due. You decide what you get – globally or for each team separately.

Allowing notifications

At the end of sign-up the app asks whether it may send you notifications. If you declined, no push notifications arrive, and the settings page shows a hint.

To switch them back on:

  1. Open your phone's settings.
  2. Choose VolleyFit → Notifications.
  3. Allow notifications.

Settings in the app

Open the menu at the top left → Settings → Notifications. At the top you'll see the Global tab and one tab for each of your teams.

The evening reminder only works if the daily reminder is switched on too.

For coaches: for the Daily Check, use the Notify below slider to set the wellbeing level that triggers a notification (2–9, default 7). For the Pain report you can choose Only for severe pain. For Absences you pick the types.

Settings per team

In a team's tab, the Global settings toggle is on at first – the team then uses everything from the Global tab. Switch it off to set up this team individually, for example to get fewer notifications from a team you only follow.

What always comes through

Some notifications have no toggle because they matter:

  • an invitation to an event
  • moving up from the waitlist
  • being added to a group
  • replies from support

Chat messages aren't set here but per chat: press and hold the chat and choose Mute. See Chat and group chats.

On iPhone, invitations, event reminders, changes, cancellations and the RPE reminder arrive as “time-sensitive” – they also show up in Focus modes.

The bell

At the top right of the app you'll find the bell. It collects notifications from your groups, sorted into Today, Yesterday, This week and Older.

  • Opening it marks everything as read.
  • Tap an entry to jump to the event, post or comment.
  • Some entries have direct actions: Accept and Decline for invitations, voting for simple polls, accepting or declining join requests.
  • If several people did something similar, it's grouped into one entry.

Chats and reminders don't appear in the bell. A toggle in the settings always controls the push notification and the bell entry together.

In the web dashboard

In the web dashboard there are notifications for the chat only. Open the chat (round button at the bottom right) and click the bell icon in the chat list. There you switch browser notifications, an in-dashboard hint and a sound on or off. All other notifications are set in the app.
